Competition Rules

Construction Paper Competition 2026

A national-level technical paper competition designed to encourage engineering students to explore real-world challenges in the construction industry. All participants must carefully read and follow the rules outlined below.

1. Eligibility

The competition is open to students currently enrolled in:

  • Civil Engineering
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Architecture

Students from related disciplines may participate if their submission is clearly connected to construction engineering or project execution.

2. Team Structure

Participants must form teams according to the following rules:

  • • Each team may have 1 to 5 student members (leader-only teams are allowed)
  • • One member must act as the Team Leader
  • • A faculty mentor may be included (optional)
  • • All student members must be registered individually on the platform

The Team Leader is responsible for:

  • creating the team on the platform
  • submitting the project topic
  • coordinating submission of the paper

3. Individual Registration Requirement

Each student must:

  • Register individually on the ConstruWX Platform
  • Purchase the Student Rookie Membership (₹200)

Only students with active membership can join a team or participate in the competition.

4. Competition Categories

Teams must select one of the official competition categories:

Detailed descriptions for each category are available on the Category Pages.

5. Topic Selection

Teams must choose a topic from the list provided under each category.

For the Open Category, teams may submit up to three proposed topics.

The organizing committee will review and approve one topic before the team proceeds with the work.

Teams must not begin work until the topic is approved.

6. Submission Requirements

All submissions must follow the official paper template provided on the competition website.

General requirements:

  • • Maximum length: 10 pages
  • • Must include clear structure and analysis
  • • Must include diagrams, figures, or visual evidence where applicable
  • • All submissions must be uploaded through the competition portal

7. Evidence Requirements

To ensure authenticity and encourage real-world engagement, submissions should include evidence such as:

  • • Site visit photographs
  • • BIM model screenshots
  • • Equipment diagrams
  • • Interview insights from industry professionals
  • • Data observations or workflow analysis

Submissions that lack supporting evidence may receive lower scores.

8. Submission Stages

The competition may involve the following stages:

Registration & Topic Selection

Teams register and select a topic.

Preliminary Evaluation (if required)

Certain categories may require a preliminary submission.

Final Presentation

Shortlisted teams will present their work online to a panel of judges.

9. Judging Process

Submissions will be evaluated by a panel of industry professionals and subject matter experts.

Judging will consider:

  • • Practical relevance
  • • Technical depth
  • • Evidence and analysis
  • • Innovation
  • • Clarity of presentation

The decision of the judges will be final.

10. Prizes

Each category will award:

The competition has a total prize pool of ₹1,00,000.

Prize distribution is subject to the discretion of the organizing committee.

11. Certificates

All teams that successfully submit their entry in accordance with the guidelines will receive a Certificate of Participation.

Shortlisted teams and winners will receive additional recognition.

12. Code of Conduct

Participants are expected to maintain professional conduct throughout the competition.

Teams must:

  • • submit original work
  • • properly reference external sources
  • • avoid plagiarism
  • • respect competition guidelines

Any violation may result in disqualification.

13. Organizer Rights

The organizing committee reserves the right to:

  • • reject incomplete submissions
  • • request clarification or additional evidence
  • • modify timelines if necessary
  • • disqualify teams that violate rules

14. Use of Submissions

By participating in the competition, teams grant the organizers permission to:

  • • showcase selected submissions for educational purposes
  • • publish summaries of winning entries
  • • use competition content for promotional purposes with appropriate credit

15. Important Note

The Construction Paper Competition aims to promote practical learning and engagement with real construction practices.

Participants are encouraged to focus on real-world observations, industry insights, and engineering analysis.
